sarah 2026 - Get Fit Studio by Sarah

Sarah Lau-Melby

In 2011, I decided to start running to get back into shape after having 4 children. It wasn’t long and I was introduced to fitness classes and cross training. This is where I got the idea to take a training so I could teach myself. In 2012, I took my first training and I have continued to expand my certifications since then. In 2013 I began teaching my first group fitness classes in Trempealeau. In 2014 I started teaching in Holmen, Fountain City & Arcadia and by 2016 I opened GET FIT Studio in Trempealeau, WI. In 2018, I decided I needed more useable space to accommodate the growing business and relocated GET FIT Studio to 315 Ryan St in Holmen.

In the last 10 years, I have expanded my studio offerings from one class per week to 20 classes on an average. I enjoy working with all levels of fitness and specialize in modifications to ensure all clients at various athletic abilities and ages can get the best workout possible in the same class. When I say fitness classes for everybody, I mean everyone! From ages 5-82, men women and child, I have a class for you. GET FIT Studio strives to provide a safe, clean nonjudgmental environment for all. We are a small group setting to make sure everyone gets the attention and help they need and deserve. Taking the time to ensure proper form and technique is most important to us. I have trainings on a variety of classes as I feel working the body in all ranges of motions and a wide variety of activities is best. No two classes are ever the same, nor do we repeat or copy pre choreographed routines.

In 2018 I went back to school to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. I believe strongly in self care and massage is one that I know can heal the mind and body. I graduated in 2019 from the Sue Kolve, Salon Professional Academy. I began adding massage therapy if June of 2019 at the studio. I offer a variety of techniques and appointments. January of 2021 we added Doubles or Couples Massages. We offer these on Sunday and by appointment currently. If you have a special day your looking for a massage for two send us a message and we will do our best to accommodate you. Fitness and Massage go hand in hand in many ways and I am proud to offer both at the studio.

I have taken the following fitness trainings/certifications: NASM- Personal Training, Beach Body; Insanity, Piyo & Turbo Kick. Fundamentals of Group Fitness YMCA. NETA certifications; Spin Bike, Pilates Barre, Body Weight Training, Kettlebells, Yoga Sculpt, Senior Fitness, Barre Connect. I have convinced to many to set goals and enjoy watching them succeed and achieve them. I love to Hike, Run, ride my road bike, do triathlons, 1/2 marathons and full marathons. I am most proud of my family! Kay Johnson - Get Fit Studio by Sarah

Kay Johnson

I have always loved staying active and just by accident found yoga. I was participating in a fitness class and the yoga instructor asked me to stay for yoga and I have not stopped practicing since. Yoga has been great for my physical and emotional well being. I completed my 200 hour yoga certification at the Lipa Yoga School through the Yoga Alliance, RYT 200 . I’ve also completed my BSW Mat Pilates Teacher Training. My instructional style combines postures to increase strength and flexibility. I incorporate breath work to add strength to your postures. I hope to connect your body to your mind so you can feel calmer and more present in your every day life.

I am a Nurse Practitioner and love to guide patients and families in finding their path to a healthy life style . My family and I enjoy tennis, hiking, biking, traveling and walking our dog. Yoga is a great practice to add to your current physical routine

I began a serious fitness journey when I was in my early 30’s. I started regular fitness classes and I have always enjoyed going to an exercise place and working in a group setting. I was so happy to find Sarah’s studio years ago and have become a regular early morning member.

My full time job is as a Physician Assistant in Neurosurgery at Emplify-Gundersen. I have been there for 20 years!

I have certifications in Pilates and SPIN. I have enjoyed transitioning into teaching. I think it’s important to have good music and variety!

Karissa St Aubin - Get Fit Studio by Sarah

Karissa St. Aubin

Hi, I’m Karissa St. Aubin! I live in Holmen with my husband and our two daughters. I’ve worked in IT for over 20 years as a software developer, systems analyst, and business analyst.

I’ve been taking classes at GET FIT Studio for more than 10 years, and the community here has played such an important role in my fitness journey. I recently earned my Spin instructor certification, and I’m so excited to step into this new role and continue growing—this time from the front of the room!

Outside the studio, I enjoy running. My goal of completing a race in all 50 states began after I ran my first half marathon in 2018—and I’ve been chasing that dream ever since!

Cheryl Nebauer

I was never interested in running or sports in my youth and my family spent more time on the couch watching TV rather than moving. I came to the world of fitness later in life but I’ve been in it for the long haul. I’m thrilled to say I’ve completed two Ironman’s, one at age 48 (Wisconsin) and the other at 52 (Florida). I never thought I had it in me, but my friend’s always say ‘never say never”. I’ve been teaching fitness classes for almost 20 years and when people ask me what I teach my answer is always “everything but Zumba”. The things I most enjoy about teaching is making the class fun and motivating the participants to move out of their comfort zone. I’ve retired from 29 years at La Crosse County and have time to enjoy riding my bike long distances, hiking, traveling, participating in adventure challenges, and spending time with family and friends.
